CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – House Edge Hanover got the best of his rivals in the Saturday feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Gilles Barrieau was in the race bike for the 1:52.3 victory in the $4,300 featured pace as House Edge Hanover ($3.50) delivered for trainer Ron Matheson and owner Everette Hanson of Maugerville, N.B. Avatar J (Driven by Jason Hughes) was second ahead of Tradition (Adam Merner).
Barrieau and Matheson also clicked with The Sports Desk ($6.50) in the Kenmac Energy pace with a 1:56.4 win.
The third win came for the duo as Ashes To Ashes ($2.30) dead heated with JKS Henry ($5.60) and trainer-driver Brad Smith in race 10 of the afternoon.
Friare Voltare ($2.50) won the Milene Carr Memorial in 1:56 for driver Brady Sweet and trainer Basil Hunter.
The Mike McGuigan stable doubled up with Bet On Evil ($6.80) in 1:59 and The Tulsa King ($3.20) in 1:57.2.
Live racing continues Sunday afternoon at 1 P.M. at Red Shores Summerside for the start of Governor’s Plate Week racing. The card features a pair of $9,000 eliminations for the Governor’s Plate, presented by Summerside Chrysler Dodge. Red Shores Charlottetown is on hiatus for live racing until July 24.
