CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Bee Two Bee delivered another powerhouse performance for his sixth straight victory in the $5,100 top pace on a rescheduled Tuesday night program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Bee Two Bee ($2.80) was all business for driver Jason Hughes and trainer Ashley Gamester, leaving hard from post 6 and never looking back. The nine-year-old Sunshine Beach stallion ripped along through splits of 28.1, 57.2 and 1:26 before stopping the clock in 1:54.1, winning by five-and-a-half lengths for owners Donald MacRae and Blair Maclauchlan. Captainofrocknroll (Driven by Ken Murphy) rallied to be second with Merigo Magic (Adam Merner) third.
The Open Trot saw Buckhead Ridge ($3.10) dictate matters from the front for Gilles Barrieau, turning back a late push from Fight Song (Jason Hughes) to score in 1:59.1. The Landon Campbell trainee is owned by Brady Doyle, while Whole Nother (Colin Sheppard) completed the trifecta.
Earlier, the Fillies & Mares upper class pace in race 9 went right down to the wire as Shake N Blake ($9.40) and Murphy dug in late to fight off stablemate Lady Devine (Drew Campbell) in a tight finish in 1:56.2 for trainer Jennifer Doyle.
Doyle and Murphy also clicked with Beth ($5.10) in race 10 with a 1:59.2 trip, while the Harrington driver completed the triple in the race 14 finale with Pictonian I Am ($9.50) in 1:57.2 for trainer Clifford Murphy.
Trainer Earl Watts doubled with Marleys Boy ($2.20) in race 1 with a 2:02.1 victory for driver Adam Merner and Rock The Baby ($13.00) for driver Paul Langille in a 2:01.3 trip in race 11.
