CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Brokeandoutofgas will look to double up against a talented group of pacing mares Thursday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has 13 dashes scheduled for a 6 P.M. opening post time with Brokeandoutofgas selected to win the race 12 Fillies and Mares Preferred 1 Pace for a $6,050 pot.
Gilles Barrieau will guide Brokeandoutofgas from post 6 for trainer and owner Tammy Collings of Hazel Brook. The five-year-old daughter of Arthur Blue Chip was a hard-charging winner in her latest assignment, capturing a $9,000 Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Series division in 1:54 over Rosetown Mary and Badgirl Bridgette. The victory was her sixth of the season and 22nd lifetime.
Badgirl Bridgette is another top contender from post 8 with Adam Merner in the seat for trainer Bill Lanigan.The four-year-old daughter of Stonebridge Terror was third by less than a length to Brokeandoutofgas last week and has five wins from 14 starts this season. Trumps Girl has post 5 for driver Marc Campbell and trainer Mike McGuigan after finishing fourth in that same contest.

The $6,050 Open Trot lines up in race 10 with Fight Song selected from the rail for driver Jason Hughes and trainer Ashley Gamester. The seven-year-old Kadabra gelding enters off a 1:55.3 victory in the Open Trot last Thursday and has won five of 15 starts this season. Flemsteen (Ken Murphy) and Buckhead Ridge (Marc Campbell) are the other Post Time Picks selections.
