SUMMERSIDE, PE – Canada’s win leader Austin Sorrie made the most of his Island homecoming Tuesday at Red Shores Summerside Raceway, bagging four victories on the 14-dash card in tandem with trainer Tammy Collings, while Brookdale Johnny dug in late to take the Race 13 Preferred 2 feature.
The $4,700 feature saw the Phil Sizer–trained Brookdale Johnny ($4.30) sit fourth early before reinsman Paul Langille tipped and sprinted home in 27.4 to nail pacesetter Sauble Attack (Driven by Ken Murphy) with Doc Awesome (Corey MacPherson) third in 1:55 for winning Amherst, N.S., owners Doug Polley Sr., and Doug Polley Jr.
The Sizer barn added to its feature tally earlier when Brookdale J Mac ($2.10) won easily in 1:58 with Brady Sweet above the wheels in race 8.
The Sorrie driven and Collings trained quartet of wins started in Race 3 when Howmac Maximus ($2.40) controlled every step in 1:57.2. The top dash winning driver in the nation teamed back up with Collings in race 9 with a perfectly rated front-end score for Brokeandoutofgas ($2.70) by a neck in 1:56.4, then swept with Gascoigne A C ($3.50) in 1:58.2 in Race 11 and Silver Spirit ($3.00) in a 1:56.2 front-end domination in race 12.
Driver Langille also clicked with Nofool Tobago ($4.80) in the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Pace in Race 4 for owner-trainer Garth Cole with a 2:01 clocking.
Driver-trainer Jaycob Sweet doubled up winning with Hawkish Deo ($2.70) in 1:57.4 then Freemans Legacy ($2.80) in a crisp 1:55.2.
