CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace renews again Thursday evening with Pasta Momma coming into the mix at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval will showcase 11-dashes on Thursday evening with a 6 P.M. start time.
The $3,700 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace in race 10 has Pasta Momma making her Island debut from post 3 for driver Marc Campbell, trainer Landon Campbell and owners Brady Doyle and Ryan and Everett MacLeod. The four-year-old daughter of Huntsville is a new addition to the Campbell Family Stable as the winner of 12-races has been competing in the Mares Open Pace at Rosecroft Raceway in Maryland where she won in 1:54.1 earlier this season.
Tobins Brownie had been the hot horse in this class with three straight Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace victories for trainer-driver David Dowling, but she went down to defeat last week to have her streak snapped. Tobins Brownie has post 4 this week.
The one who snapped that Tobins Brownie win streak was Rosetown Mary, who leaves from post 5 on Thursday for trainer-driver Corey MacPherson. The Pang Shui mare was a front-end victor in 1:55.2 in that May 30 start for the 12th win of her career.
Plain Jane has rail control from the Campbell stable with Brady Sweet picking up the catch drive.
Post 2 has Share The Moment riding a trio of third place finishes for driver Gilles Barrieau and trainer Bo Ford.
The Post Time Picks like Rosetown Mary to win from post 5.
“MacPherson put Rosetown Mary on the engine last week and led at every call scoring in 1:55.2. She may not get that trip this week but with her strong finishing kick she could double up at Red Shores.”
The top trot of the evening is in race 4 with a $3,100 purse at stake. Jessiejesorjessica (To be driven by David Dowling) is the favourite from post 4 for trainer Jennifer Doyle with Atlantic Champion Irish Ray (Marc Campbell) returning from Pennsylvania to leave from post 3.
