SUMMERSIDE, PE – There was no denying Wind Blown in the Tuesday evening featured pace at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
Paul Langille put the free-legged son of Mach Three on the lead in the $3,200 featured pace and kicked out opening splits of 27.3 and 56.2. Second-choice Woodmere Denny (Driven by Dale Spence) came calling first-over and raced the pacesetter past three-quarters of 1:25. Wind Blown opened up in the final split to win in 1:53.1 with Woodmere Denny four-lengths back in second and Woodmere Ideal Art (Jason Hughes) third.
Phil Sizer trains the winning pacer for owners Doug Polley Jr., and Doug Polley Sr., of Nova Scotia.
The Gamester-Pinkney Cup eliminations for young pari-mutuel drivers were also held on the card with O’Leary cousins Brady Sweet and Jaycob Sweet landing in a tie for first place. Drivers Kyle Desroche and Brett Clow will join those two in the final to be held Aug. 27 at Red Shores Summerside. Four drivers from the Nova Scotia leg will also compete in the eight-horse final with that group consisting of Ryder Rennison, Keigan Madden, Brett Leblanc and Keith Legge.
