CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Acefortyfour Dome converted a pocket ride to victory in the Thursday evening featured pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The Ashley Gamester trainee was sent away as second favourite by the betting public and stalked in second behind post time favourite Shake N Blake (Driven by David Dowling) in the $3,400 featured pace. Acefortyfour Dome watched the post time choice lead past the 27.2 opening quarter followed by splits in 56.2 and 1:25.2. Acefortyfour Dome got up to win by a quarter-length in 1:54.2 in line to Jason Hughes for owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge with Maggiesdelight (Corey MacPherson) second and Shake N Blake third.
The Jennifer Doyle stable was firing on all cylinders as the Earnscliffe trainer continued her lead of the training standings with three winners on the night including the $3,450 Open Trot with New Legacy (Dowling) in a 1:57.3 clocking by three-and-a-half lengths.
The Doyle stable also visited the winner’s circle with Woodmere Heather M (Dowling) in 1:56.2 in race 12 and Rock N Roll Cays (Dowling) in race 5 with a 1:56.1 mile time.
Marc Campbell had four victories in the driver’s seat with Windemere Saddy (1:56.3) in race 3 for trainer Brent Campbell, Mile Hill Aggie (2:02.3) in race 4 for trainer Paul Morrison, Baskin Robin (2:00.3) from the John Clarey barn in race 7 and Run For The Money (1:58.4) for conditioner Chris Davies in race 8.
