SUMMERSIDE, PE – The $4,300 featured pace on Canada Day Tuesday was all about Roll Em at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The 15-dash Canada Day program went under a short delay after race 4 due to a power outage in the area but the beat then went on as Roll Em ($2.50) captured race 14 in 1:53.1.
The Landon Campbell trainee went right to the front and controlled every step of the featured pace for driver Marc Campbell winning by two lengths in 1:53.1 off of splits in 27.1, 56.2 and 1:25.2. It was the fastest mile of the day and the first win of the season for the Time To Roll seven-year-old, who is co-owned by the Savage Stable, Brent Campbell and Ryan MacLeod.
Brookdale Johnny (Paul Langille) was second in a sharp effort, while Rollwithhottytoddy (Myles Heffernan Sr.) held third.
Little Leroy ($2.10) strolled to his third straight win in his $3,650 event with Ken Murphy at the controls for trainer Joe Baxter who co-owns with Marion Stewart, Brian Ramsay and BMD Memorial Stable. The four-year-old son of Source Of Pride fronted the field through splits of 27.2, 57, 1:25.4 and 1:54.2. Jack Boswall (Marc Campbell) was second with Sharky (Corey MacPherson) third.
