CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Undefeated rookie pacing filly Saulsbrook Rolo will put her unblemished record on the line Thursday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park as part of a 10-dash program.
First race post time is 6 P.M.
Saulsbrook Rolo, a two-year-old daughter of Roll With Joe has started her career with four wins in as many starts and will look to make it five straight in race 10 of the program for a purse of $3,700. Trained by Landon Campbell and driven by Marc Campbell for owner Carl Stafford of Conception Bay South, NL, the Atlantic Classic Yearling Sale topper in 2024 took a new lifetime best of 1:55.2 in her latest. Saulsbrook Rolo has post 1 on Thursday.
Lining up to take a shot at ending the streak are Real Smokeshow (To be driven by Jason Hughes) from post 5, a consistent top-three performer for trainer Ashley Gamester, and Wired Blue Chip (Adam Merner) from post 4 for conditioner Earl Watts. Also in the mix are Woodmere Betcha (Mike McGuigan), Woodmere Lizzie (Corey MacPherson), Wednesday (Myles Heffernan Jr.) and Magnificent Mia (Paul Langille).
The Open Trot lines up in race 6 for a $4,200 pot as the diagonally-gaited stars clash. Fight Song is favoured at 5-2 from post 1 with Hughes in the bike for trainer Gamester and owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge. Buckhead Ridge has post 5 as the 3-1 second choice after winning his last four outings for trainer Landon Campbell and driver Marc Campbell.
Earlier on the program, the trotters line up in race 3 for the D & G Younker Memorial, carrying a purse of $3,800. Veteran campaigner Majian Tango is the 5-2 morning line favourite from post 2 for trainer Jim Ripley, who drives for owner Marylea Ripley of Amherst, N.S.
Other top entries include Oceanview Daisy (Myles Heffernan Sr.) from post 3, Majian Salsa (Ken Murphy) with post 5 and Glider Man (David Dowling) from post 6.
