CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The trotters will be in the spotlight Wednesday evening during Old Home Week at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park as the Atlantic Sires Stakes returns for two- and three-year-old diagonal gaiters.

The 12-dash presentation gets underway at 6 P.M. and features $13,380 divisions for the rookie trotters and $12,900 splits for the sophomore trotters.

The Atlantic Sires Stakes for two-year-old trotters opens the stakes action in race 2 with a field of six. Little Louis is the 5-2 morning line favourite from post 5 for driver Corey MacPherson and trainer Kuri White. The son of E L Rocket was a strong winner in his latest start for owner East Coast Captains of Cornwall and will face off with rivals Roseys EL Girl (Jason Hughes) from post 4 and Emberlees Rocket (Marc Campbell) from post 3.

The Atlantic Sires Stakes two-year-old trotters return in race 11 for another $13,380 pot with West River Karuna the 5-2 morning line favourite from post 3 for driver Ken MacDonald, trainer Clare MacDonald and owner Haley Shepherd. The Legion Of Honor filly takes on Dusty Lane Margo (Jason Hughes) from post 4 and Bonmati (MacPherson) from post 5.

The three-year-old trotters take their turn in race 6 for the first $12,900 division, where Oceanview Nikki gets top billing as the 5-2 morning line favourite from post 2 for trainer-driver Michael McGuigan and owner Blue Diamond Racing Stable of Emyvale. The EL Rocket filly has been a model of consistency all season. Her top rivals are Dibsonthecaptain (MacPherson) from post 4 and Dusty Lane Kahlua (Ryan Desroche) from post 3.

Race 8 has the second $12,900 sophomore trot split with Supreme Rockette favoured at 5-2 from post 3 for trainer-driver McGuigan and owner Jamie Whalen of Avondale. The E L Rocket filly will battle West River Jet (Ken MacDonald) from post 4 and My Pocket Rocket (Ken Murphy) from post 2.
