CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The streak continued for Badgirl Bridgette on Atlantic Breeder’s Crown Consolation Saturday, presented by MacRae’s Backhoe and Trucking, at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Jason Hughes had the lines of the daughter of Stonebridge Terror for owner-trainer William Lanigan of Cambridge. The filly won her sixth straight race from seven lifetime starts in her $7,500 Atlantic Breeder’s Crown Consolation for two-year-old pacing fillies in 1:58.2.
The $7,500 Atlantic Breeder’s Crown for two-year-old pacing colts saw Phill My Beer (Driven by Marc Campbell) go all the way in 1:58 for trainer Landon Campbell and owners Kent MacDonald, Ryan MacLeod, Brent Campbell and Brady Doyle.
Woodmere Delta was one of four wins on the day for driver David Dowling. Jeff Holmes trains the winner of the $7,500 Atlantic Breeder’s Three-year-old pacing filly consolation for owners Brad Sumarah, Robert Sumarah and Frank Brundle. The Rollwithitharry filly stopped the clock in 1:56.4.
The program was cut short after race 9 in consultation with the participating drivers with the final five dashes cancelled due to torrential rains causing poor visibility.
One of those races was the $7,500 Atlantic Breeder’s Crown three-year-old pacing colt consolation which will be postponed until Sunday at 12:15 P.M., to be run as a non-wagering event before the 16-race Atlantic Breeder’s Crown Championship card at 12:30 P.M.
