SUMMERSIDE, PE – Brookdale Johnny converted a two-hole ride to victory in the Tuesday evening feature at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway while tripling up his connections.
The team of driver Paul Langille, trainer Phil Sizer and owners Doug Polley Jr., and Doug Polley Sr., celebrated three wins on the 14-dash card capped off by Brookdale Johnny in 1:58.1 in the $3,300 featured pace. Bacononabiscuit (Driven by Adam Merner) was second in the top class with Sauble Attack (Ken Murphy) placed to third.
The winning connections also celebrated in race 1 as Brookdale J Mac (1:59.3) won the Isabelle and Ivan Cameron Memorial and Brookdale Jim (1:59.4) won the Dick Walsh Memorial/F.S. Construction pace in race 5.
Merner doubled up as a trainer-driver winning the race 4 P.E.I.S.H.O.A. Pace with Nolans Magic Shui (1:59.1) and the race 7 Red Shores Pace aboard Impeccable Shadow (1:58.1).
Driver David Dowling had four wins on the program with Reddirt Nellabella (2:01.2) in the Atlantic Province’s Harness Racing Commission Pace for trainer Taylor Doyle, the P.E.I.H.R.I.A. Pace in race 8 with Lady Devine (1:58.1) and the Allstar Cresting Pace in race 12 with Write The Rules (1:57.3), both for trainer Jennifer Doyle, as well as the PCHC Pace in race 10 with the Mike Dowling trained Illicit Affair (1:59.3).
Shes A Lover (2:01.4) won the Graham Chappell Memorial in race 3 with the late horsemen’s grandson Rob Chappell in the race bike.
Love Party (2:02) landed on top of the Standardbred Canada pace in race 6 for driver Ryan Desroche and trainer Blaine McKenna. Desroche also drove Skip Across to victory in 1:59.4 in the PCHC Sales and Promotions Committee Pace in race 9 for Stanley Harper.
Howmac Maximus delivered as the favourite for driver Damian MacLellan and trainer Tammy Collings in 1:56.3 in the Universum Media Pace in race 11.
