CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – A wet night led to a front-end victory for Tobins Brownie in the Thursday evening feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The $3,700 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace had Tobins Brownie and trainer-driver David Dowling cut out all the action through sloppy conditions to win in 2:02.2. After a review of the race by the officials with the Atlantic Province’s Harness Racing Commission Ms Moyse (Driven by Adam Merner) was second ahead of Chelski (Corey MacPherson) who was third. Unofficial second-place finisher Share The Moment was placed to fourth for being inside three-consecutive pylons.
Dowling conditions the 31-time winning Tobins Brownie for owners Brittany Dowling, Sandra Weeks and Errol Burgoyne.
Dowling also scored from his own barn as a trainer-driver in race 2 as newcomer Arts Beach was a winner in 2:02.4 for owner Albert Hickox of South Freetown.
Rosetown Mary had the fastest trip of the night in her $3,000 class winning in 1:58.4 over the track rated three-seconds off for trainer-driver MacPherson and owners Rosetown Stable and Taylor MacPherson.
Live racing continues Saturday May 11 at 6 P.M., at Red Shores Charlottetown.
