SUMMERSIDE, PE – The roan campaigner First Glance will have the outside in the Tuesday evening featured pace at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The Tuesday card has 11-dashes starting at 6 P.M. with First Glance the morning line favourite from post 5 for a $3,500 purse.
Jason Hughes drives the roan son of Thinking Out Loud out of the Whitefish Falls mare Whiteglance for owner Danny Birt of Earncliffe. Trainer Jennifer Doyle send the 24-time winner to Red Shores Summerside this week after racing almost exclusively at Red Shores Charlottetown all season, where he won in 1:52.2 earlier this year.
The ultra-consistent Brookdale Johnny has post 2 in the field with Paul Langille listed to drive by trainer Phil Sizer. The Rockin In Heaven four-year-old has three wins, two seconds and a third from his last six starts including a 1:54.2 win on Aug. 15 in Charlottetown.
Coasttocoastshark (To be driven by Brady Sweet) has rail control in the field of five while Howmac Charmer (Corey MacPherson) leaves from post 3. Sauble Attack will be a major contender from post 4 after winning this class last week for driver Ken Murphy.
The Backstretch Beat thinks First Glance will be hard to defeat in the Tuesday evening top class.
“The outside draw is not ideal but First Glance will command a pile of respect and will likely grab the lead without much of a tussle. This looks like his race to lose but he has some solid contenders that will be gunning to knock him off.”
Silver Spirit (Hughes) is the top choice in the race 11 finale for $2,750. The Devon Wallace trained pacer was a winner last week in 1:57.1. His main rivals include Doc Awesome (MacPherson) and Starshipzodiac (Brett Leblanc).
