Mike McGuigan began his driving career on Prince Edward Island in 2006. His first parimutuel win was at the Charlottetown Driving Park with Diesel Seelster. McGuigan had a career high of 48 wins in 2019 and set a personal best for earnings in 2024 totalling over $225,000 in purses.
In 2019 McGuigan and Gettin Messi won the Atlantic Breeders Crown for three year old trotters in 1:59.1. Mike has won numerous stake races across the Maritimes including the Frank and Beth Stanfield Memorial with R ES Shabla at Truro Raceway.
McGuigan was the trainer and driver of Oceanview Nikki who won five stake races across Maritime tracks in 2025.
