SUMMERSIDE, PE – Tony Too Tall teams up with Myles Heffernan Jr., as he looks to rebound in race 15 on Tuesday evening at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The Prince County oval has a 16-dash card starting at 6 P.M., and the $4,700 class in race 15 has drawn a compact but competitive group of five.
Tony Too Tall (Driven by Myles Heffernan Jr.) leaves from Post 5 as he makes his first start since a third-place finish in the $50,000 Governor’s Plate final in line to Myles Heffernan Sr., at Red Shores Summerside. The Trevor Hicken trainee is a three-time winner this season for owner Perry Burke of Gross-Ile., Quebec.
Mantario gets post 3 for trainer-driver David Dowling as the nine-year-old son of Sportswriter rides a string of six-straight on the board finishes for owner Jennifer Ritchie of Kingston, N.B.
Morning line favourite Brookdale Johnny (Paul Langille) gets post 4 after finishing second-best to Bettor Than Spring his last start at Red Shores Summerside in a 1:53.4 clocking. Phil Sizer trains the 16-time winner for owners Doug Polley Sr., and Doug Polley Jr., of Amherst, N.S.
Sauble Attack (Ken Murphy) leaves from post 2 as the Tyne Valley pacer was a runner-up to Rose Run X Con at this level last week. Paul Biggar co-owns and trains for co-owner Donald Callbeck of Kensington.
Sharky (Taylor Doyle) holds down the rail for owner-trainer John McGuirk after a fourth-place finish in his latest.
The Backstretch Beat likes Mantario to provide the mild upset.
“This veteran campaigner has been dancing in tough company all season and drops into a very winnable spot tonight. He catches a class he’s very familiar with and gets Dowling in the bike from a cozy post 3.”
Driver Norris Rogers sits on the precipice of a milestone as he is three wins shy of 1,000 in his career. The 54-year-old Summerside native is a five-time former winner of the dash title at Red Shores Summerside as he dominated the Prince County oval in the late 1990’s. Rogers has eight drives on the Tuesday card.
