SUMMERSIDE, PE – A red hot claimer will go toe-to-toe with an Invitational pacer in the Tuesday evening feature at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The Prince County oval has a 14-dash presentation starting at 6 P.M.
The $3,200 featured pace has a full field of eight with Tony Too Tall (To be driven by Myles Heffernan Sr.) the morning line favourite from post 6. Trevor Hicken trains the son of Big Bad John for owner Perry Burke of Grosse-Ile., Quebec. Tony Too Tall was a fourth-place finisher his last start in a division of the Richard Campbell Memorial while race timed in 1:53.3 and will look to add to his 32 lifetime wins.
Imalookertoo (Brady Sweet) draws post 2 from the red hot Jeff Holmes stable as he comes into this field off a 1:54 flat victory. The Shadow Play stallion has notched 11-wins from 22 starts in 2024 while he sits at 34 lifetime victories.
Woodmere Ideal Art (Jason Hughes) has post 3 and he been putting in another solid campaign as a nine-year-old for trainer Sifroi Melanson.
Howmac Charmer is the post 5 entry for Summerside’s leading trainer, Kyle Williams. David Dowling gets the catch driving call as he continues to lead all drivers at the track with 42 wins followed by Corey MacPherson at 29 and Ken Murphy in third with 24.
Also in the featured field are Howmac Maximus (Damian MacLellan) from post 1, Sauble Attack (Murphy) with post 4, Brookdale Johnny (Paul Langille) from post 7 and Coasttocoastshark (MacPherson) saddled with post 8.
The Backstretch Beat likes Tony Too Tall on top.
“Tony Too Tall has been facing the very finest Invitational pacers on the Eastern Seaboard and never looks out of place. We are not in love with the post draw but you know Heffernan will have him in play as he takes dead aim at the historic Red Shores Summerside winner’s circle. We think they can get it all.”
The $2,300 race 14 finale has Western Delight N (Hughes) as the top play from post 2 for owner-trainer Ralph Sweet of O’Leary. He is favoured over Urika Blue Chip (Brett Leblanc) and Bohannon (MacPherson).
