SUMMERSIDE, PE – Controlling the race at every station, Woodmere Ideal Art took the Tuesday evening feature at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
Jason Hughes piloted the Sifroi Melanson trainee for owner Ultimate Stable of Greater Lakeburn, N.B. The $2,950 featured pace saw Woodmere Ideal Art leave alertly from post 5 and snapped down a 27.1 opening quarter to secure the lead. The second station was in 57.4 followed by three-quarters in 1:27.2. Smooth Lou (Driven by Corey MacPherson) came calling late in the mile but had to settle for second half-a-length back of the front stepping Woodmere Ideal Art in the final time of 1:56.3.
Third went to Sauble Attack (Ken Murphy).
Six-year-old owner Noah Oakes of Warren Grove had the first win of his career in the race 13 finale as nine-year-old veteran pacer Legendary Ron (Damian MacLellan) was victorious in 2:00.3.
MacPherson tripled as a driver with Dunsan Harry (1:58.1) for trainer Saul Lanigan, Here Comes Emmett (2:01.3) for Melvin Gamester and Miss Dutton (1:57.1) from the Kuri White Stable.
